QUALIFICATIONS:

As a self-motivated and service oriented individual, you possess excellent interpersonal, communication, and customer service skills, coupled with an attention to detail. You will have knowledge of medical terminology, pharmacology, physiology, and disease processes. The ability to work independently with minimum supervision and demonstrated initiative are essential.

You must be a graduate of an accredited program for Health Record Technicians/Administrators and hold Certification with the CCHRA.

Previous hospital experience in ICD10-CA-CCI coding and abstracting is essential as is knowledge of CIHI’s Guidelines/Principles.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Assign diagnostic and procedure codes to I/P, SDS, ER, and Clinic records using ICD10-CA-CCI
• Electronically abstract demographic and clinical information from patient records in accordance with current CIHI Guidelines and Principles regarding DAD and NACRS data elements and hospital client Policies and Procedures, which will be provided to you prior to commencing each assignment.
